Bulletproof has come a long way since we first had the idea to design the game so here are a few thoughts on the design.

The primary mechanic of Bulletproof is set collection and the design was heavily influenced by Archaeology the Card Game from Z-Man Games and Monopoly Deal Card Game from Hasbro. In Bulletproof set collection is the only path to victory but it also serves an important purpose. Each territory set has a unique special bonus which players use to gain advantages. Activating certain sets as opposed to others of in conjunction with different action cards allows players to create interesting and power combos.

Resources management is also a key part of Bulletproof. Players must manage the amount of money in their safe because it is used to pay other players because if they run out of money they will be forced to pay their debts with territory cards. Each turn players must choose between putting money in their safe or using the action of the card, there are no cards that are just money to be put in the safe. This feature helps players who have lots of money in their safe because rather than continuing to fill their safes they can use the actions of their cards or purchase items from the black market.

Another important feature of Bulletproof are the different characters that each player uses each game. Each character has a special ability, some can be used throughout the game while others can be used only once. The characters help add flavor to the theme and also increase replayability. One goal for our Kickstarter campaign is to add substantially more characters to the game via stretch goals.

Finally, Bulletproof is a game with a very rich, lighthearted crime theme. Many if not most games have you playing as the good guy or hero. In Bulletproof each character is a criminal so you have the opportunity to play as a bad guy or girl. Even though your character is a criminal we think we have designed the game with enough humor that you will find the theme very engaging and fun.

We hope you will check out Bulletproof when it launches on September 12th, 2017.
