In the original game rules items in the labyrinth are only matched if they are pictured on the card being played.
For a more interesting and strategic game also allow matches to be made if two matching items are connected by a path which uses the card being played.
If the player can place a finger on one item and trace a path which connects it to a matching item using a passage on the card being played then the player picks up either one of the matched cards (but not both). If the remaining cards in the labyrinth allow additional matches to be made through the card being played then additional cards are picked up one at a time until no more matches are possible.
As usual, the labyrinth must remain together for a card to be picked up. Matching items which were already connected may only be picked up if there is a new path connecting them which passes through the card being played.
