Hi all,

Are we allowed to communicate about our loyalty? Lie and deceit about? Since you never know if that player who does talk about it tells the truth? (and thus lying or tellibg the truth can work as a strategy). I think so...but did not read it in the rules.

Yes. That is how we play it. Also, I watched a video replay where, Travis, the designer of the game, did just that.

Yes! Talking, communicating, lying, etc is very much a part of the game. Page 10 of the rulebook explains this a bit.

Had our first game last night and really enjoyed it.

However towards the end we were winning and talked about a strategy to close the game out by burning the events deck and we got very specific. It did feel a bit like we were gaming it rather than playing a game in the spirit it was intended (if that makes sense)

To address this we though about a house rule where only those on the same location could talk to each other, Clearly everyone else can hear but can't contribute. Will not fix it but it might help.

This sounds great! How did it work out?

Did you count the rowboats as part of their adjacent boat, or on their own?
