I got to play a demo on Sunday, and left with this being my most anticipated game coming out of Gen Con. I wrote about it here on Geek & Sundry and also talked about it on this episode of my podcast if you like audio. The Thing discussion starts at 2:00. I'm just a dude with a podcast (and a written outlet) but I'm happy to elaborate, explain, or clarify anything.

But you're not The dude with a podcast that everyone is talking about, sorry.

I regret that I can only be a dude and not the dude.

Reading your review at Geek & Sundry, I got the impression that this unfortunately won't add anything to my existing library of Dark Moon, Resistance & BSG.
Actually it sounds like a straight mod of Dark Moon/BSG...
I was really on the fence, but this sounds... ok'ish, nothing unique at all.
Which would be a pity, given the theme.

Did somebody get a different impression that redeems the game for me?

I haven't played Dark Moon, but comparisons to Resistance and BSG are apt. It combines aspects of both so you have a game that has a little more to it from a board game perspective than Resistance, but plays in half the time of BSG and is more streamlined. That's why I'm excited about it. I don't really love the Resistance (prefer Secret Hitler) and I never picked up BSG because of how long it is. So for me it's right in the perfect sweet spot but if you are already a fan of both and own them, it may not carve out its own space.

I think Panic Station played right nails it the best.

Considering I think Dark Moon is atrocious, I don't know if I should be happy that this game can replace it, or sad that it might be too similar.
