What do you mean by "clearer"? Sharper? Less rough?
Do you mean the brown background or the coloring of the two boxers?

Ah yes; I noticed that too. I did most of the art at night with bad lighting, so it looked brighter to my eyes at the time

Re: [WIP] Brawlers - 2017 Mint Tin Design Contest - Idea Phase
Some initial components (not "official" yet). I think I can fit all the printable stuff on a single page and I should be able to make it printable on A4 and letter.

The most difficult part is the inlay. It just about fits my tin (the side flaps could be about half a millimeter longer), but I doubt all tins are exactly the same size. Could anybody please try to cut out the inlay and see how it works on their tin?

Corners are currently missing, I'll probably add those later; just extending the side flaps should work, but makes it harder to cut out.
If I can get at some "ideal" dimensions that work for most tins, I'll upload the template(s) for everybody to use.

Getting closer with the inlay.

Just need to find a good style and process and some source material for the graphics of it. And perhaps replace my printer toner

I have a doubt ... I read the rules, and the box with small cubes must shake it off?

I think that by force to play and shake the inlay will ruin ...

sorry, but did you think of an engraving or an internal print?

Suppose you protected it with a piece of transparent film? Or print on the film and place it ink-side down?

it would be better to print on rubberized film ... even wooden cubes can ruin

Wow, hold on there! It's only a print-and-play game. I think getting the required cubes will be hard enough for most people, let alone engraving the inside of a tin.
Should this one ever see a full production run, there's probably lots of options available to improve the build quality, but I really don't have any plans to do so.
For the sake of hypothesizing, I think lamination would suffice and keep the inside smooth enough for the cubes. Engraving would look awesome, but would probably be way too expensive.

p.s. The rules as currently written are incomplete; it's missing a rule stating the player with most gang members (will be renamed to "goons" for conciseness) starts, so "losing" player get last shake. I'm having some trouble with the graphics for the inlay (wish I could hire an actual artist) but will upload a new component sheet soon.

Very innovative use of the tin!

I'll need to find some cubes of the right size.

I think the wear and tear of the inlay can actually add to the grittiness of the street fighting theme.

Once it becomes too worn to see, then simply replace with a 'new location'.

That is so nice of you to offer!
I'm going to try and make a few stabs at it myself first, though. I think if I just put in the labour and use the same art style as the cover image, it'll work out. My plan is to have a sort of dock scene ca. 1920's London.

This is an updated version, which is absolutely not final, but sports some different styles so I could try it out on paper. It does include an improved rules "sticker". The inlay is perhaps a fraction too large. YMMV on your own tin.

If you want to have a go at it anyway, here's my current template size.
It's the same as used in the photo, so slightly too large for my tin.

Click on to get the full 600DPI size.

Here it is in glorious black-and-white action:

this is a project for the bottom of the tin box "Dockland East London in the 1920s" ... Thames, ships, barges right ... red brick warehouses left ... the dock in the middle ...

What do you think about it?

That is spot-on! My own attempts so far are not even close to what this promises.
How about we turn this little game into a team effort?
Though I can't really offer you anything except streetcred and world fame.

be calm ... just tell me if you want to complete it with the cover work you've done or not

this is my job ... but when I like a project, I do not look at money ...

Great! I'd like to keep the cover as it is now. The inlay artwork does not need to match the style of the cover. I want the game to feel like it was made as a cheap children's toy in the 1920's and aged since then. I'm sure you have a good idea of how to translate that concept into actual an actual art style than me.

I've uploaded a blank version of my Photoshop PSD file of the inlay, with cleanly separated layers here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3uZPxL1jqlLNUxqRUdIX0ZCdjg... (p.s., this template is also free to use for anybody else who wants an inlay for their own game).
