I do not think it means what you think it means.

Whenever you become anxious or stressed, outer purpose has taken over, and you have lost sight of your inner purpose. Your state of consciousness is primary. All else is secondary.

It was posted Sept 26 last year. I have seen nothing this year.

I was looking forward to not worrying about it this year as I didn't think I was going. Then I booked my flights last week. Now anxiously awaiting the VFM time vampire. lol

Last year I decided this would be a great way to reduce the size of my collection.

I ended up buying more games than I sold. cry

Guess I'll have to try again this year...

Same thing pretty much happens to me each year. I keep a spreadsheet of what's going in and out to I at least have a hard cut off for money out not exceeding money in, but I always seem to walk out with more than I came in with.

I have a move coming up though, I'm pretty anxious to downsize this year, and there are fewer titles that I'm chasing... though I feel like I start every VFM thinking that.

I actually was selling some of my rarer games and buying cheaper ones, so while I came home with more games I finished up a hundred bucks at the VFM. So I guess there's that?

...although I kinda regret not spending that hundred bucks on a copy of Pyramid Arcade...

Do most people pay cash or will they expect you to accept PayPal? I'm asking because one or two of my games will be ~$150

Cash. I think I've done one (two tops) Paypal transaction out of about 100 BGG flea market transactions.

You can probably trust a BGG attendee since you have their username and most are upstanding folk. But I would still request cash in most instances.

First timer here, has there ever been any deals on shipping? I don't think I want to carry a bunch of stuff on the plane (and pay more than the cost of shipping for the privilege)

after missing last year, I'll be back this year. Not going to do the Flea Market ever again. I'm just too old for that shit. Too much work and every year it seemed folks bought less and less. I think it's because the VFM is where it's at. And I'll be there for sure.

There are anti-deals on shipping. You get to pay more for surlier, less-competent service (both sending and receiving) in the hotel.

If you're not flying with free luggage, perhaps look into bringing one suitcase inside another, so you're only paying for an extra bag one way.

I also use packing tape and an Ikea bag to make an extra carry-on-sized package of games. The tape doesn't permanently stick to the bag, and the handles and material of the bag are basically indestructible.

I pull a bunch of games off my shelves that I wouldn't be sad to see go, and then give them a quick look for condition. I enter the game title, condition, and sale price into a spreadsheet, so when the list is posted, I can just enter everything in quickly.

I'm actually selling this year, not just buying. Separating out what I know won't Math Trade and blowing it out for cheap. I need room, people! You know you need to cull when space is worth more than money to you.
