We're struggling with Mission 7. It seems unfairly difficult with three players.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
We can take three crystals to the dropoff pads, but then one mechs needs to go back to collect the fourth crystal - navigating waves of minions - while the others defend the pads. With four players, you'd still pick one card per turn, but there would be one crystal per player and no need to go back
.

We played with two players in the hard mode and won. So I guess three players could win also.

This might work as a strategy:

Try to bring one crystal back first, and then bring three at once.

I play with three and somewhat unintentionally used the strategy of getting hit and dropping the crystals near the delivery area so we didn't have that far to go to retrieve the remaining crystals after the the initial deliveries.

Yes, it is doable with all numbers of players, but you do need to adjust the strategy accordingly.

Have fun

We beat it with two, as well.

Spoiler (click to reveal)

1.) Don't bother with the crystals until your mechs are death, the destroyer of worlds

Spoiler (click to reveal)
2.) Have one mech gather the crystals while the rest guards the platform

Spoiler (click to reveal)
3.) and/or drop the crystals 1-2 spots away from the platform until all crystals are there, then slot them all in in the same turn

Spoiler (click to reveal)
4.) Hextech Minefield, every turn. This can be combined with the repair pad next to the platform for maximum carnage.

We won in the second attempt. We are two players. Our strategy was ...

One keeping the platform while the other take the crystals. Massive use of fuel tank. Both of us with level 3 memory core looking for take one red card and fuel tank in order to update it at level 2 quickly.

For us, the most difficult mission because I haven't read in the rulebook that you can drop the crystals voluntarily near the platform. (Or any site)

You can't voluntarily drop them. But you can position yourself so you get smacked by the minions.

We beat it with three, we just took the three to the destination, and by the time we got there, we were killing minions way faster than they were spawning, so one person just bumbled back for the last crystal while the other two were destroying any minions that popped up.

Now, mission EIGHT is a #@#$@, lol. Depending on how you play the rules about how towing a bomb through a gate works. If you play it the technical way it probably should work by the letter of the rules it is very hard, heh.
