It seems that Amazons are really, really powerful at any skill level in comparison to other teams. I've read many posts that states "they aren't too bad once you learn how to beat them". But these posts don't say much apart from "avoid going into their killzones", which is downright impossible more often than not...especially if they also occupy the centerfield.

The biggest problem is that you inevitably have to survive those +2 attack contests.

I've seen an earlier ruleset that showed Amazon bruisers to have 2 health, which would put them on part with the only other team in the game who has that: Cowboyz.

Given i've played both teams and vs both...i am starting to think that it should be reversed.

Cowboyz completely depend on their bruisers to get anything from their ability, and then need to win attack contests many times, while having to cope with a bog standard +1. They are a team that should focus on killing but can't do it all that much. In addition, the ability doesn't even prevent the Cowboyz from being hurt if it fails. It's also one of the few abilities that doesn't work with ringers.

Amazons, on the other hand, enjoy +2 to attack contests, the only team to have such power, while also combining a unique immunity to reactions, which compensate their +0 tackling to a large part. Tackling specialists will often have to face a +2 attack contest twice in order to try knocking down an amazon bruiser. That ability makes some ringers horribly powerful. While less effective, the amazon runner can also benefit from their ability since they are the only team to be able to steal the ball diagonally. With a +1 to it, it's not that bad for the killiest team of the game.

So i wonder if the amazons should not have stayed with 2 health on their bruisers, while Cowboyz should have 3.

I totally agree!

But as it is, it's nice to give the overpowered Amazons to a new player - it can make up for a lack of tactical knowledge or experience. Plus, I quite like the challenge of playing against them

Yeah, if you need a handicap. But once that phase is done, how do you fare?

As for the Cowboyz, having 3 health bruisers puts them on par with demons, which seems fair enough.
