Fantasy Flight just announced this.

I hope I can get my store to hold an event.

Does this also apply to european stores?

The website mentions International Retailers, get in touch with your FLGS.

I'm confused. So there's no actual new gameplay in these kits - not like a POD scenario or anything? Just some alternate rules (that you can easily play with without the kit) and some bling? Is this a draw to people? I can't really imagine playing this game as part of organized play and this does little to change that (though I love this game).

It could be. I would play in the event just for the playmat.

I'd do it just to find more players in my area.

And hopefully it would get the store to host a Labyrinths of Lunacy event.

And the mat.

And alt Daisy.

Is that the GenCon scenario? That's what I as hoping this was, like a way to get to play that PoD before it is released.

It's the little card you put on Locations. Same art as the card, it's right there.

Ohhh, right. Haha. Sorry about that.

The rules always called that a "mini-card."

I so hope my FLGS involves themselves with this, I would love to play with other people, instead of just playing solo. The game stores in my area seem to leave setting up game nights to the players which I think is a terrible policy. There have been countless times when I walk into the local game store, which I love btw, and people can just shoot the shit with the guy/gal who is working because they don't have too much to do, unless they're doing inventory. Instead of wasting all that money paying people to do nothing, have them start being creative and try to develop a community around more games. Maybe even give them some commission based on sales of that game once the store's organized play is in place. IDK, I just want SOMEONE to play with. I can leave the mat and alt art card. I'm a teacher, I don't have to the time to develop the community myself, I'm so busy with work 24/7 (unless it's summer).

It is sort of weird that the playmat features art from the PoD scenario but has nothing to do with it.

It says the kits "include everything they need to support up to four players per kit." which sounds like a PoD or something. It certainly looks like The Lord of the Rings has been including PoDs with their Organized Play events.

How do these events usually work with other games? Do the stores charge for them, and how much typically?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess there will be a new POD for Arkham Nights. But they still wanted to do an organized play event. I suspect like LotR LCG there will be two PODs a year. Only for AH LCG it will be Arkham Nights and Gen Con and the Organized play will be other things.

Labyrinths of Lunacy is the best Gen Con event in which I've ever participated. I was really hoping they would release a kit for FLGs to run the event, so I'm a little disappointed in this organized play kit. I'm hoping they still put together an event kit for Labyrinths of Lunacy someday.

Pretty sure they said they will release Labryinths via POD.

Yes, that has been confirmed in the time since this thread began. It's listed by FFG's Upcoming page as "In Development", so it should come out some time in 2018.
