Billy, I'm hurt. I asked politely that you refer to me only as "Seductress Lord Toodlespants."

Bones are never grimy, bath or shower, unless you're a skeleton buried in the dirt or sand.
Bloody, sure; but not grimy.

For clarification, can I get a definition of 'better'?

For speed and convenience, a shower wins every time. For relaxing with a good book, a bath is clearly better... Rubber Duckies also go better with baths...

...so many variables... and we're not even addressing the possibilities inherent if you're not alone...

I don't think I've had a sit-down bath since I visited a Japanese family 15-20 years ago. They do it right - first you wash so you are clean BEFORE getting in the bath. Then you get in and just soak and relax...

I really enjoy baths but don't take them much.
Soaking in the warm water, bubbles, good book...
I usually do hop in the shower afterwards for a rinse off though.

Mental note: do not swim or otherwise submerse myself in lakes in Michigan.

And that clarification needs to be made - what is the bath *in*?

Last year I and my fiancee, along with 10 of our friends, stayed for a week in a villa in Italy. It had a pool. We swam in it even though it was September and starting to get cool.
One day it was just the two of us in the midafternoon, before everyone else got home. We went swimming and yes, I went without. Not for long, but if you're going to do it, on a beautiful Italian mountainside afternoon, surrounded by vineyards and a 500 year old villa, is a damn fine place to do it.

I'm too tall to fit in a regular bathtub, so it's pointless. I'd kill for a deep tub with jacuzzi jets.

I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.

The last time I can recall taking a bath was in August of 1995. I was on a driving tour of Scotland, and one of the B&Bs my buddy and I stayed in had only a tub, with no shower nozzle. While in the tub I recalled why I much prefer showers to baths: In a bath you are sitting in the diluted dirt and soap that you washed off your body, so you'll never get completely clean.

The house I own came with one (it was about the only thing the previous DIY-keen owners got right). It may have played a part in my decision to buy...

Showers are better for simply cleaning, but for everything else that bath is indeed better.
