Already downloaded the first one last week, and now the second one as well!
Very exciting to have a steady stream of fan cases from various gifted fan authors getting released.

I look forward to playing both of these cases, the idea of a continuing story from case to case seems interesting.

Thanks Vincent for the cases and Dave for the heads-up!

Geeh, thanks for hoarding

(Did you get the Winter Widows version of the first case? That was the name before he "updated" it. If so, you might want to re-download.)

Yeah I did, but I just noticed that this version still uses the 'Winter Widows' title from the questions onwards, so I guess there'll be another update soon. As there's no change log I was already wondering whether anything else was changed or if it's just the title (not going to check on that before playing of course!).

Anyway, I'll indeed make sure to use the most current version before playing

I am indeed on BGG (Vincent here),

Didn't notice this thread until now though - and thanks for the reminder that the old name is still in the pdf... will update it straight away.

As for the last update: I playtested the case for the 2nd time, and of course different locations were visited, including one that mentioned the wrong name... oops. So I didn't change much, just some typo's etc.

Thanks for the support, and enjoy the cases!

PS: Part 3 the final is soon to come...

Just finished the first case: a very imaginative concept matched with a solid, consistent sequence of clues. I thought the last of the "Part Two" questions was particularly brilliant.

I'd recommend this case to everyone! I give it 105 out of 100

Awesome! I've postponed starting the trilogy until they're all released, so I guess it's Sherlock-time this evening

Well that was a lot of fun; stretched the brain in a lot of different directions!

I noticed some potentially significant errors:

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The warehouse at 39SE is repeatedly listed as 39SW. Which is a setback if you deduce that's the location corresponding to 'Crown'.

Similarly, the Elephant and Castle theater is listed under EC rather than SE, not that turns out to be important.

If anybody is on the fence about playing, I can't recommend it enough.

Of all the cases I've ever played, I think this is the best one.

Can these be used with the components of the Ystari version? Or do I need to print out this map and directory?

I believe the map is the same, but the directory is a little different. I recommend printing off both though, I found myself making notes on materials that I otherwise wouldn't if I were using my official map

I am thinking about doing theses cases soon! One small question, how does it work with the newspapers?

I see a lot of newspapers from 1888, while all the cases are in 1889. And also several newspapers after the last (3th) case. If you are doing the first case, can you thus use all the newspaper from 1888?

Thanks for helping out, it looks stunning!

About the newspapers: simply resolve them as being part of the base game. So when playing my custom case 1, take that newspaper and all 'base game' newspapers before that time. with custom case 2, take the same pile and add case 2's newspapers. with custom case 3, take the whole pile and add case 3's newspaper. Enjoy!
