Well all that add of an unconvincing overweight man trying to looked shocked has done is to get me to consider paying to block adds until it goes...I wonder if this is deliberate?

Even if it equals one?

I thought about changing the ad block settings to see what you guys were talking about. But then I just closed this thread and went to the next one thinking, nah, too much trouble.

Gotta agree. Showing closeups of obese gamers making dumb faces is not going to entice me to buy your product.

I think the thing that bugs me about that add the most is it seems backwards. It starts out zoomed in and then zooms out. Usually when you emphasize a look of "shock", you start with the whole face then zoom in.

It just seems... off, somehow.

That might be it.

I'm also not sure how I'll feel about carrying around a bag full of metal dice.

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...

You haven't seen an annoying ad until you live through the hot, steaming jobby that was the banner ad for Rocketville that we suffered through here (11 years ago!). I've been a registered member here for over 16 years and that was, by far, the worst thing that I have ever seen at this site.

Was it here that had a long stream of "Choose wisely" ads showing some kind of generic character?

I remember seeing those over and over again. There was even a thread with parody adds including one of Ron Weasley saying "Choose Weasley."

I think you guys are thinking about that Kingdom game, that started off being mild before switching to all out near porn, even though the game had absolutely nothing to do with that.

Ed: I tried very hard looking for an article I read that chronicled the changes of the ads as it traveled down the path it did getting worse and worse. But since I can't remember the name of the online click game it was advertising, my google skills have failed.

Aaahhhhh! I had to keep looking until I found it.

I think it is this one:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
I leave it to you, SybotCB, to find the history of the ads. I need to go to sleep.
