Looking for a game for space battles.
Would be nice to have a game big fleet vs big fleet or even 4+ players that fight each other for dominance.

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game
Star Trek: Attack Wing

Edit: not sure if the player count is possible

Edit 2:

Star Trek: Fleet Captains + the two expansions can play four teams of two.
I believe this is the game a trekkie would choose hands down.

How big is "big fleet"? Take a look at Talon, I haven't tried it with more than 6 or 7 ships per side, but it should scale up pretty nicely.

Firestorm Armada

Although it isn't being made anymore.... big fleet combat there...

Dropfleet Commander

Also larger fleets and options...

Both require assembly and painting

Twilight Armada I understand has a good mix, though it's long OOP. Mind you, starter sets are about $20 from what i've seen online and the game is highly rated by players who have actually played it. It puts it a good 'budget' spot even being OOP.

Unfortunately, i'm not one of those. I have a big box of TA disks still, but i've never played yet...

Relevant geeklists:
TACTICAL STARSHIP COMBAT
Capital Starship Combat Games

If you want 10 ships or more per side, that's often on the high end for spaceship games. I'd be willing to try with Full Thrust (and it's free, so not much risk in giving it a try). I've heard that Starfire, Battleshift, and Generic Outlandishly Big Spacefleets (GOBS) can handle large fleets; I've never played them, though, so I can't say from experience.

If you want a total of 10 ships on the table, that opens things up a lot. See if anything on those geeklists sounds intriguing.

+1 Talon

I quite like Space Empires: 4X as well, but it has quite a bit more going on (exploration, economy, technology) aside from just combat.
