Im looking to purchase this, but i am wondering as i could possibly get a cheap 1st edition, if its worth buying this one, or even waiting for the Old Breed edition.

Old Breed (Volume 2) does not replace Volume 1. They offer different organizations and environments.

The campaigns in Volume 1 are all U.S. Army, and they give you WW2 Normandy bocage, Korean War, and Vietnam rural.

The campaigns in Volume 2 are USMC, and they give you WW2 Pacific island fighting, Korean War winter, and Vietnam urban.

Get whichever version you can get your hands on and start playing. All else being equal get a 2nd edition if you can. If you like it, you can then get The Old Breed when it is released down the road.

All that being said, the 1st edition is still completely playable with the 2017 rules so if you find a bargain, why not?
