OK, so here's a quick reference guide to the events in the new event poll...
Vote here - https://bigimaginationgames.com/2017/09/23/cotw-polls-23rd-s...
Details in each event negotiable (especially as it's late as I type this!).
OPTION 1 - EGG AND SPOON RACE - Muel
100 metre dash carrying a rubber egg balanced on a spoon. If it falls off, the animal or their human coach must pick it up and put it back on the spoon before it can continue. Water or ice lanes available on request, birds start grounded.
OPTION 2 - MAZE - Reece
Animals must escape from the centre of a maze (with roof). An identical water maze is available for aquatic animals. Time is scored.
OPTION 3 - COOPER'S HILL CHEESE ROLLING AND WAKE - Ian Hillman
Animals chase a circular cheese down a dangerously steep slope in Gloucestershire (in the UK) and they are ranked depending on how fast they can get to the bottom of the hill safely, locate the cheese and take a bite.
OPTION 1 - HOT DOG EATING CONTEST - suggested by Muel
Hotdog Eating Contest - Animals have 5 minutes to devour as many hotdogs as they can. Coaches are allowed to feed their animals. Any food remaining in the mouth at the 5 minute mark will be removed and the weight of food consumed is measured. Ketchup optional
OPTION 2 - ANIMAL CAR CRUSH - suggested by Gareth Ryan
On a course similar to a Monster Truck event, animals race around the 8-track course to complete 10 laps as quickly as possible. Time bonuses of 10 seconds are awarded for animals that are able to crush cars during the race. Water lanes available. Birds start grounded.
OPTION 3 - EATING YOUR OWN WEIGHT IN SUSHI (POWER) - suggested by Esben Arild Rasmussen
Animals are setup with a bowl full of their own weight in different types of sushi. They must eat it as quickly as possible.
OPTION 1 - SUPERMARKET SWEEP - Matt Zitron
Animals have one minute to fill their trolleys with the largest value of goods possible in the supermarket. There are inflatable bonuses spaced around the supermarket worth between £5 and £50. There are no clothing or electrical goods sections in the supermarket, but only food items. Water lanes available, flying allowed.
OPTION 2 - BASE JUMPING (TECHNICAL) - Ben Brereton
Animals jump from a high cliff with a parachute available on request. They must land safely below the cliff as quickly as possible. If the organisers need to deploy their giant safety net to catch an animal, they are disqualified (but will at least be safe). Flying allowed, no special water provisions
OPTION 3 - SKI JUMP - Adam Chilton
Anomals have 2 skis attached and must perform a ski jump, landing as far as possible from the jump ramp. No purposeful body movement is allowed after leaving the ramp. There is a large safety net to ensure no injuries.
OPTION 1 - EUROVISION SONG CONTEST - Mason Todd (first suggested generic singing contest) / Shut Up and Sit Down (had previously suggested Eurovision during podcast & highlighted in comments by bruitist)
A team of between 3 and 50 animals (the trainer's choice) take part in a singing contest, with average audience entertainment rating being measured and scored. Animal acts last no more than 4 minutes and they must make some sort of music.
OPTION 2 - WATER POLO (TEAM) - suggested by Gareth Ryan
Animals compete in teams of 7 (including 1 goalkeeper) in a standard water polo swimming pool. Matches last 10 minutes and a round robin tournament is played. Flying not allowed.
OPTION 3 - ULTIMATE FRISBEE - suggested by Josh Cain
Animals compete in a game of ultimate frisbee with teams of 7 animals competing in a knockout tournament. The floor is perspex with water underneath and multiple holes will open up when water animals are competing.
Thanks for your input! Keep suggesting new events as we will hopefully unlock more through the course of the project.
