So one of the things I've ended up involved in is the local city council politics of my hometown.

This year, the normally pretty chill suburban race has been turned topsy-turvy by running slate of conservative candidates for the (naturally) nonpartisan position.

Now I could have a whole thing about that, but it's just background for my question:

One of the people running is very very proud of her police union endorsement, and I hit a realization -- for many people (certainly for me), that's not really a good recommendation anymore. In the age of Cop shootings, the Police unions are the poster children for unions that put their members first over everything - including public safety.

So, is my 'for many people' really accurate? Or is it just me?

I would say it depends heavily on the reputation of your local police force.
