I'm very interested in this game, but am nervous given the amount of errata for your first game, Heroes of Normandie.

Are you running your rulebook by Games Workshop for "approval" before you go to press? I'm mostly interested because I just want to know another set of eyes have checked it out, and that it'll be pretty darn clean and ready to go when it hits the stores.

Thanks, and good luck with this game, it sounds awesome!

I hope not. GW make bad to good board games. They need other companies like FGG to help them in the BG community.

haha... I can't argue with ya!

I'm more concerned about typos, omissions, and the kind of errors that another pair of eyes can catch. I'm confident that Devil Pig will come up with a cool game. I'm less confident that they'll put out a clear rule set and counters that allow folks to play the game they envision!

Since this game is in the Heroes system, it shares its core rules with Heroes of Normandie. The plan is apparently to use the core rules as they're written in the compendium (which has been cleaned up and run by editors and users), and then there are just a couple bits of Warhammer specific rules left to write. So in theory, it should be pretty decent.

Unless a lot has changed since the FFG license days, all licensed boardgame content is ran through GW licensing officials.

Only thing they are checking is that the lore remains consistent. They do not interfere in rules mechanics. Unless of course, if the rules would blatantly contradict the lore. Like, if the game had a mechanic for a Rhino shooting a pink shrink ray or you had Eldar shooting lasers from their spirit stones, Care Bear style.

Ah crap.
I've gotten to the point where life is too short to have to deal with games with poorly written rules.
Please let a professional rules editor have reviewed/edited the rules for this game.

Things should be fine.

As said above, this game will use the 'Compendium' ruleset which is very well written and laid out. No issues with that ruleset at all.
