Part of my job is creating escape rooms.

The hardest thing to solve is TRYING TO DESIGN WHEN YOU HAVE CATS.

Just plan on incorporating Feline Intervention in your game design. That should take care of it!

Try placing a few blank job applications nearby. Cats are notoriously lazy.

We must move forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

It's a battle of wills. Rub that belly until the cat gets bored and wanders off.

It seems like our cat can hear us playing a game from the other room, waits until we are well into and have 200 pieces out. Then we hear what sounds like a stampede of horses. She comes barreling down the hall and jumps onto our game table! Pieces go flying, we yell at our cat. She just proceeds to sit down and clean her self on our game board. Cats are jerks! 😀

Wargamers often use a sheet of plexiglas over their maps. You need one -- but for the cat.

Keep it in front of the table vertically, and when the cat comes barreling, a player on each side of it raises it so the cat jumps right into the clear surface. It'll be like a Bugs Bunny cartoon in real time.

How did you get into the field of Escape Room design? Are you an owner of an establishment? I've gotten into puzzle-making a bit and even made an escape room in my house earlier this year as part of an annual weekend of gaming with friends. Would be curious to know what might be out there!

I work for the parks department - I'm the historic blacksmith at a 19th century museum village. Having worked in board game design, I was the guy they went to for new attractions.

The rooms I create are in houses from the 1800s in a park of over 200 acres. I have access to some astounding resources, including thousands of museum pieces, real and reproduction. Also, the county carpenters, painters and so forth. You pay to get into the park museum, then an additional fee for escape rooms.

Now you must design the board game titled "Escape the Cat." I would totally buy that.

I've come across more lazy people on BGG, than I have seen lazy cats. Some people cant even type the name of a game in the search engine.

Gotta stick up for my pussycats.

You already can. Roll over some catnip, and attach a catnip mouse, than run away. Better hope the cat doesnt get you before you Escape the Room. Dont know if that will be one star or 4 star difficulty, as it depends on your cat.

Or more appropriately, does she eat wet food, and not dry food which contains corn, potatoes, and other starches.

She eats identical food to all of our other guys, who are normal sized beasts.
