From Rep. Kelly Cassidy:
After months of vowing to break his campaign promise and veto HB40, the bill to protect choice in Illinois and expand care for lower-income women, Governor Rauner is reportedly wavering.
As you read this, the far-right and its dark money billionaires are flooding his office with calls and messages, demanding he vetoes the bill. We simply cannot be outworked on this; it may come down to something as simple as how many people he hears from. The pressure so far has clearly had an effect, but if the right is able to push him back, it won't matter.
I'm asking you, please, to call Governor Rauner and demand he uphold his campaign promises and stand with Illinois women. This is about as urgent as it gets.
Springfield office: 217-782-0244
Chicago office: 312-814-2121
If you can help, please do. Broadly, Mr. Rauner has been Illinois' answer to Mr. Trump -- a man of wealth who generally demonstrates his incapacity for high office -- but he has been nudged to do the right thing now and again. Here's hoping he does so here.
