Would you be interested in participating in a monthly-ish challenge with sometimes goofy setups, sometimes fun challenges, and overall an acting excuse to play more AHLCG?

For example, doing a Ultimatum of Chaos run for Essex County Express. Setting up the same player deck for all players and setting up some kind of scoring mechanism so we can compare results. Talk about our plays, the things that happened to us, the fun and terrible things, etc.

What do you think? Do you have ideas for setups and fun scenarios? Would you give this a try?

Love this idea - especially having everyone use same player deck (ideally built without requiring multiple cores).

I certainly want to be inclusive but would definitely want to be able to use both cores at times.

It would be difficult to restrict this to certain core numbers and expansions. Plus number of players. Maybe it should just be a general concept of defined challenges, with required players and packs indicated.

Not for the 'same deck' challenges.

For Ultimatum of Chaos, I'm not sure we would have to separate the single Core from double Core players. Yes, Agnes would have two Shrivelings in her source pile, but she would also have two copies of all Level Zero Core Survivor cards.

For Ultimatum of Dread, I'd suggest three tiers: Beginner (one or two Level 0 Investigators constructed from a single Core), Expert (one or two decks constructed from as many available cards as the Player has) and Geek (a specific set of Investigators with specific cards in the deck, decided upon by the forum). I think there are ways we can be inclusive to everyone who wants to participate without making anyone feel obligated to use Cards they don't have or exclude Cards they do have.

Well I'm a little flabbergasted! I didn't expect this much support for the idea.

I'm heading to Arkham Nights 2017 next week, but I think we'll start after that. I'm going to see if I can't get some sort of microbadge made up for us lunatics.

As for single core / double core, I think it'll generally be up to the players / creator. For the Ultimatum of Chaos, I think I would lean towards one core as that's most inclusive for everyone. For challenges where you build your own deck, I'd say you build with what you have.

As for the Chaos decks, I believe this generator will do quite nicely for our purposes: http://bulletriddenlich.com/chaos/

I'll set up a new thread when it starts, with a link posted here!

I've put in a request for a set of microbadges here. Very open to input from other folks!
