We understand that you match trooper for symbol but during missions, besides the alien we are facing we see symbols on the card. Does this mean we can only have those troopers partake in that mission?
And once the enemy is defeat do you automatically won the mission?

Piggy back: how do you resolve any alien spaceships left in orbit and over the continents.

Also when do you refresh exhausted scientists, satellites...etc?

Symbols on a mission work exactly the same way as symbols on alien cards. You must complete all the tasks on a mission card to complete the mission.

UFOs remain over continents until the continent reaches maximum panic. After they panic ufos will go to orbit

The game will ask you how many ufos are in orbit at the end of the turn, the ask you to move ufos left in orbit at the beginning of the next turn

You refresh everything during the refresh phase which is near the end of the turn, just before you return assets to their cards

Have you tried the tutorial? It's the way I got to understand these things, on my side.
