For a German unit to use Finland as an alternate supply source, besides being in Finland, may he also be adjacent to Finland?

6.2
"Minor Country Supply Source
The Finnish unit is always in supply in Finland.."

Because of this no other Axis unit can be supplied from Finland.
So the other Axis units in Finland are supplied by the Baltic Sea as an Alternate Supply Source or by Leningrad (if friendly controlled and having a supply path to the West) being in Overland Supply.

8.6
"Supply can be traced into but not through Finland."
So the Axis units adjacent to Finland have to be supplied from Leningrad, Kalinin or Yaroslavi.

Best,
Peter

Thanks Peter.

6.2 I get, Finland is not an Alternate Supply source for non-Finn Axis. So nothing more to be said.......

8.6 "Supply can be traced into but not through Finland."

Who is this rule talking about, who is outside of Finland successfully tracing supply Into Finland - but not Through?

Hi Hank,
if it would be allowed to trace supply THROUGH Finland, your units adjacent to Finland (both swamp hexes Southeast of Finland) or in other hexes East of Finland could be supplied from Leningrad through Finland.
This is NOT possible.

Finland is not an Alternate Supply source for non-Finn units AND you can not supply through Finland. Think it is important to know BOTH rules.

Best,
Peter

This is correct. Finland did not have the east-west road or rail infrastructure to supply whole German Armies (they were just able to supply their own Finnish troops) Plus the terrain was quite foreboding, as the Soviets discovered in the Russo-Finnish 39-40 war. And the Finns wanted to stay put of the war as much as possible anyway, so were not keen of having too many Germans in Finland.
