Hi,
In the rules it says that Gems and money should be hidden in each players purse.
I had no purses in my game box, nor is it listen in the rule book content list.

So, should money & gems be hidden? If yes, how? Should there had been puses/screens brought with the game? Or should I take screens from another game?

Thanks!

As far as I know this was planed but it is not needed.
Every player MAY hide their coins and gems.

Looks like the rulesbook isn‘t the final version :/

Hello! Thank you all so much for hanging in there with us re: rulebooklet.

You are correct, the purse for resources is NOT part of the game.

HOWEVER:
Having hidden resources IS however a massively interesting and 100% tested way to play the game. We will be getting back to you shortly re: alternate play-modes, news / updates, etc...

Proxy Purses:
For now, I would suggest finding a proxy to hide your resources, and try the game this way, it jacks the intrigue level up to 100! We just felt like the final version needed to be public knowledge which encouraged negotiation over distrust and uncertainty, but veterans to the game ONLY play with hidden resources

Great to know! Do me a favor, if you wouldn't mind, can you report back here on your experience after playing with hidden resources?

I'd love to start hearing about it beyond my test teams.

Sure I report back.
What is the standard version? Hidden or not?

Thank you SO much for reporting in on the result! I'd love to hear how people feel about the difference in play versionss.

Standard = NOT hidden
Intrigue Version = both Gems + Coins hidden

We are about to play this over the holidays. I too was looking for the bags that are mentioned in the rules.

We'll get some bags so we can play with the resources hidden as that seems like the way to go.

We'll report back too.

Played with six players with intrigue/hidden resources.

We seemed to have a general sense of who had what, although we all hid our resources. My daughter's family house secretly showed me gems and asked if I could complete the set while flashing a poison card, which encouraged me to tell a little white lie and claim I did in fact have a single white gem - just enough to encourage him to keep the alliance going. Because of that, we snuck a close win in.

I think we'll probably play in the future with open information, since for money at least you can derive everything from just slowing the game down and keeping track of numbers (although gems are random even to the player drawing them). The game dragged on a bit since it was a six way teaching experience and we *really* liked making deals and bribing people for every little thing, but that was generally seen as a positive.
