Is it possible to search dead bodies and other searchable stuff at the end of combat?

Thanks.

Yep of course.
After encounter or skirmish you get a search roll on each unique enemy killed. So for example if you killed those three rabid wolves it would be one search roll per character.

To search just roll a d10 and for a 10+ you will get to draw a item card.

Cheers and happy playing

Which dead bodies?

During adventure mode: You are free to wander around the map and search what you would like. So far, most adventure modes have a soft timer (meaning that there is a roll to be made at the end of each round).

During encounter mode: So far, all the search icons that I've come across state that you can only search them during combat. Therefore you lose access to them after. You have to read each encounter carefully. If the encounter says "when you are ready to leave" that means you switch from encounter mode to adventure mode once all the enemies are dead. If it says "immediately" then typically once that condition is met (such as killing all the bad guys), you are immediately removed from the encounter map.

All enemies defeated are searchable.
Skirmish - Each character gets 1 search roll for each skirmish enemy (card) defeated.
Encounter - Each character gets 1 search roll for each unique enemy defeated. Thus if you fought 3 werewolves and 2 vampires, each character would get 2 search rolls after combat.

As stated above no search tokens after encounter battle ends. So the tokens and most skill checks have to be made during battle otherwise they are forfeit. So if you refer to those it is clearly stated in the story journal when and if search tokens/ skill checks can be encountered more than once and also if only during battle or even after battle (like the rubbles in the cave during first story those can be cleared after battle for example)

And as said before you get one search roll per character for every unique creature type so if faceing wolves and vampires and some night stalkers you would get 3search rolls per character no matter how many of each monster type you have killed. And for this roll you always roll a d10 and add any search bonus you may have and get one item card for every search roll 10+ so pretty rare but scales perfect for slow character progression and its pretty satisfying when finally hit home during searches :-)

So that's what you need to know ;-) (since i am now at home there is more time for a better answer)

Cheers
Peter
