Woo-hoo! We’ve managed to hit our target amount within a few hours of the Kickstarter campaign going live, so the project is definitely going to happen!
Thanks to everyone who has already pledged – it will be great if we can unlock all of the stretch goals, as we really want to make the components as great as possible. Eyes are on the German and British special personnel figures (stretch goals 6 & 7) – we’re really hoping we can make them.
Remember that the game will be available in English, French, and Spanish editions, so don’t let language be a barrier to you!

I recently played a lot of The Great War thanks to a new strategical WW1 game (Lights are going out) and I wanted to have the tactical feeling of trench fighting.

I had great fun and will continue playing in the following weeks with the Tank expansion...

However : one question as a "geek" I use my boardgame components and the pieces to play on the table ALONG with my Surface tablet and the Steam version of TGW.

2 questions :

- Are there any plans to upgrade the Steam version with Tanks and other expansions too ?

In any case I will play the tank expansion with the Stuka Joe Solo (CDG) rules too.

- Are the new British/German pieces of the same "hard" quality as the basic box, or are these more like the Hold the Line miniatures which in my view are a bit too soft ? That is not very clear from the KS pages...

So keep up the good work and many thanks.

PSC,

I'm not surprised at all. If you Kickstarted the next two expansions today, I'd back them both! I trust we'll make the British and German special personnel figures, or else you'll make them available separately later on.

How about making the captured British tanks available as well? Also can we purchase the larger card deck separately?

Originally I stated I was content with the base game and tank expansion and wouldn't back the French expansion. But who am I kidding, this expansion looks awesome! I'm now a backer!

I've pledged the 'Early Bird Veteran' which gets me the French expansion plus the revised molded figures (same style as the French) base game British and German armies. There are several new specialist figures in the French expansion, and if the Kickstarter gets to Stretch Goals #6 (40 GBP - German figures) and #7 (45 GBP - British figures), we will get all the new specialist units for those armies! The project is at 22,433 GBP, so we are almost halfway there with 16 days to go. Let's make Stretch Goal #7!

I was one of the unhappy people in regards to the aircraft models for Battle of Britain, but PSC has made good by offering free replacement with newer and better models. Now the French expansion shows that PSC continues to listen to their customers, offering new-design figures that will not be so brittle and will require no assembly. These are very encouraging signs, and PSC will continue to get my support. Guys (and Girls), join me in this Kickstarter and help to make it a resounding success!

They explained everything in detail and at great length. After they finished I sat, despondent, contemplating a bleak and empty future. "I’m glad you’re depressed" said one. "It means you’ve understood the situation.”

How well will the 'semi-hard' plastic take paint? Will it flake off as with 'traditional' toy soldiers?

Any chance of seeing French tanks as a stretch goal or add-on or will that be a future expansion?

My guess is that they plan a French Tank expansion since the French army expansion is centring on Verdun only. A tank expansion, should I be right, would probably look at the French battles of 1917 and 1918 when they would be using tanks a lot more.

We'll have to see what comes out in 2018/19.
