Anybody know any good shops in the area? I know that some retailers, such as Barnes and Noble, will sell some less mainstream games, but I'm looking for a place that has a great selection and is local, rather than online.

Thanks

They recently moved to a new space in Norton that is really nice. They have a few locations.

Hi
The Citadel Game Cellar in Groton CT is about a half hour away🤓
Do a google search, they have a bunch of games from old, sometimes OOP, to newest titles
It has a sign out front and is around to the left side on first floor👍

Connecticut:
The Portal is definitely an interesting visit - the main shop has lots of non-gaming hobby interests. The game location across the street has a good amount of space to play and a good selection of games.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Tabletop Shop is worth checking out as well. Can see them on FB at https://www.facebook.com/TabletopShopCT

There's a board game café in Middletown, CT, as well. I haven't made it out there, though.

Haven't explored RI or MA so can't help too much with those.

They have been mentioned already, but I will add some amplifying comments.

Friendly Neighborhood Tabletop Shop in Newington, my favorite of the 3. I really like going here, they have a large open gaming table and a great staff.

The Portal in Manchester was visited by the Dice Tower (last year if I recall) and is also a great store.

The Citadel in Groton had a pretty interesting selection, I saw a lot of well known titles and a lot of not so well known (at least to me). The staff was really welcoming.

Not mentioned is The Grid in Manchester, it was more of a MTG hangout IMO that happened to also carry a couple board games.

Also The Battle Standard in East Windsor is more of a war gaming spot, really nice tabletops setup, not my thing, but they staff were pleasant to talk to about war games.

Happy Gaming.

I heartily endorse Rivendell Books and Games in Rehoboth Mass, just about 25 minutes outside of Providence. More centrally located is the Toy Vault gamestore in Warwick.
