Amazon has this for $12, but the reviews make it seem it might not be worth it, even at that price. Any opinions on that?

I would say absolutely . I have found it a very good game . I just wish the rail tracks on the board weren't so vivid . $12 ? - It's worth twice that ! But then I tend to like western themed games .

I also like it, but prefer Carson City. Deadwood was the very 1st worker placement game I owned, and recommend it for a gateway worker placement style game.

Deadwood is currently my 84th favorite game.

Just ordered one. Make sure you get the Town Hall rules correct.

Thanks for the input, guys 'n' gals.

I went ahead and picked it up and added Armageddon also, since it was also pretty cheap.

What are the "correct" rules? Please elaborate as I have just purchased this game too! :)

I just got this a couple days ago. My gf and I have played probably 4 times. We both feel that it is definitely worth 12 bucks. It has quite a few ways to play towards victory and has lots of variance since the placement of tiles changes. I would recommend.
