Just chiming in with my two cents....
It's true, the graphic design is a mess and the Elder Gods could have been printed on regular sized playing cards. The components take up far more table than necessary.
There are aspects I really like about the game, especially the spell cards in conjunction with the familiar Kingsburg mechanics. While they aren't well balanced, some home ruling might help mitigate when luck turns on you (such as discarding the first card you draw if you don't like it, then drawing keeping a second).
The last time I taught it to three others at a local gaming event, they all liked it well enough to play again.
