Hi,
I was wondering if a player could place a house marker on another neighbouring country even if it will not score, just to get the bonus from that country by having a marker on the seal.
Also, are non-scoring neighboring countries resolved during scoring phase ( so that a player could get the influence bonus from a country even if it does not score ) ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi Clive,

You can put a house marker on any neighbouring country area you want : Whether it scores or not at the end of the turn does not matter for that.

In the Foreign policy phase, you have to choose only one country area, unless you have the senatorial office that allows you to choose two different ones.

Non-scoring neighbouring countries are not resolved. Thus, no marker is put on bonus slot.
But it is not useless "to work for future" :
you can struggle to become Royal Representative later and be able to score countries you have majority for or wait the last turn in which all countries are scored...

Best Regards,
Manubis.

Thanks a lot Manubis, when playing, we did not think of this at all !
This is indeed a more intersting way of managing foreign countries.

Thanks again for your answer Manubis,
Have a good day.
