Two questions

1. What are the 3 types of attractions called? Rides, food, and market? I ask because I bought the specialist that lets you search the stack and buy a “marketplace” tile. I wasn’t sure what that was defined as. I am also guessing the exact names will be important for goal cards?

2. Did anyone see a way dinosaurs get removed from your board? Found it odd you got -10 points for an attraction with no Dino it. Didn’t see a way for them to be removed so I figured it was a penalty for taking attractions and never making a Dino in there.

Played a game last night and I think we got it right but we forgot to take money from visitors after the first round not sure why we stopped doing it.

Check out the FAQ: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1900266/dinosaur-island-faq

1: Marketplace tiles are the green tiles of the 3 types: merchandise, food, rides (edit: this isn’t correct, see responses below). This specialist is explained in the FAQ (which was updated to reflect responses).

2: Also in the FAQ. No moving or removing attractions.

The lab upgrades, attractions and specialists make up the marketplace (phase 2) You may search for any tile/card.

There is no way for you to remove a dino. The -10 penalty is to keep people from buying and filling there park with dino recipes and never making them.

I am pretty sure the rule book calls the green tiles “attraction tiles” do I was confused with the word marketplace.

My second question was not about tiles but the actual dinosaurs on them.

You're referring to the Insider specialist, which lets you take any one face-down marketplace item — a collective term that refers to attraction tiles, lab upgrade tiles, and specialist cards.

Forgetting to take income from patrons makes the economy super tight. I hope you get to play the game again with this rule in use, as it greatly opens up the ability to buy the more expensive marketplace items.

Yes hopefully get to play again tonight. We played super late and were tired and just did a short game. I think I will always go with the medium to long game for now on.
