Were these added to the game after production for balancing issues?

I have a really weird pet-peeve with card games when cards are missized and miscolored within a deck. Also, I don't like card sleeves.

Is it too game breaking to leave these three (seemingly extra) 4-Strength cards out of the game?

I realize it would slightly impact the length of the game and cause less potential to score the 4-Defense rewards on Alien Systems cards that allow players to gain Alien Artifact cards.

Anything else I am missing?

I don't remember having mis-sized cards but I'll check when I get the chance.

When first unboxing the game; they were mixed in with the faction/alien artifact/alien systems/defense cards, instead of sealed with the rest of the resource cards (if that helps at all).

I just checked my 4 strength resource cards and they are all the same size, and the same size as the other resource cards.

I have 14 total 4 strength cards if that helps. I ordered mine in the pre-order program.

I haven't played the game so admittedly I don't know what the Strength cards are or look like, but I checked and I also do not have any missized cards in my copy.

Out of curiosity. Do you have 80 or 83 resource cards?

I've sadly learned that collecting boardgames and playing them are different hobbies

I have the exact same issue.

I haven't tried to shuffle them yet, but if I place those three in the middle of the deck, you can see the difference. It's slight, but noticeable.

I also don't know if they would stick out individually, like maybe I can tell because all three are together.

After my first game, if it's a noticeable difference, then I'm just going to sleeve them.

Just wanted you to know it's not you.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know I’m not alone. I’ve been playing without them.

The 4-strength loose cards that I have all say 'promo' on them. I think they're extras(?)
