Great mission, lots of fun.

But I came into it at level 3... and so the undead get a +1 to all attacks... and I am still weaksauce.

I am getting obliterated in scene 2.

This level up is not really fair. I have 20XP to spend.. and not much to spend it on. I can't upgrade my hand on this mission... so we are basically playing a level 3 dungeon at a level 2 experience... ugh.

Turn undead... Seems like a good choice for this scenario?

My partner and I have been failing at this mission too (mostly because we refuse and play Scene 3). The +1 attack does suck but I don't think that's why we've been losing. We thought initially that the tokens would be our downfall but we have been taking care of them quickly. We do end up weak by Scene 3 but it seems more unlucky draws since you mostly need green and blue damage.

Level 3. We got to level 3 just before this adventure the first time we've played it.

How many players?
What roles?
What choices are you making?
Why?

If you are level 3, you have 30xp to spend.

Level 1: 0-9
Level 2: 10-29
Level 3: 30-59
Level 4: 60-99
Level 5: 100+

Stil getting destroyed. I finally just took the +1 to just skip scene 3.

Martial and Rogue.

Round 1 Vampire Lair and Revenant came out. I barely was able to beat them.

Martial was down to 1 health by the end.
Rogue was at 5 health.

Round 2
Saw the Wight, Swarming Zombies and Felosal Amakeer come out. Martial went down, but Rogue was able to handle the other 2.

Scene 3
Rogue has 3 health, Martial has 1. I ran.

I am not sure how I could have played it any differently. But I am thinking this is EASIER if I can just fight the level 2 monsters... The Undead are just putting too much of a hurting on me. (Tower never came out... that would have helped...)

Ok, I finally beat the mission.

Couple of keys:
1. Used some uncommon items.
2. Used 2 common scrolls to get 2 more uncommon items.
3. Grapple came out.
4. Tower came out
5. Round 3 I was able to pull all my enemies from the Secondary deck.
6. Fireball came out.

The items are a big deal... able to do 2 damage with a card early in the game really helps. But at the end vs the Vampire, we could grapple him, or tower him to stop his attacks.

Lastly, the secondary deck is so much easier then the main deck in this one. Getting to it made it a ton easier!!

This mission is HARD. And very counter - intuitive. Probably harder then escorting the noble...

We ran Unholy Presence twice yesterday in my 2p campaign. We just couldn’t get the right color balance to take on the Vampire. First game we were doing great and then ran into the Vampire wall. We were incredibly close, but just lacking a single critical color in the right hand at the right time. Second attempt went sideways pretty early. We recovered, but were too hammered in Scene 3 to put up a real fight vs the Vampire.

We couldn’t get Hunter’s Mark into the mix in either adventure. Would really be nice if we could get Hunter’s Mark and Colossus Slayer for our Ranger.
