Hey Brian. Are you familiar with the Houston Boardgaming Meetup Group? There are several places around the city people get together. I believe the largest is Tuesday and Thursdays near West U.

Didn't seem like he was into group gaming...maybe if it's the right group though

Did you just belittle miniature gamers while celebrating boardgamers at the same time?

You just have to pay 5 and it's done (link)

If you create such a guild, you might want to extend it to anyone seeking company, not necessarily single individuals

I wonder what the turnover of THAT would be...

I support the idea.

Isn't there already a guild for people who like to play games solo? *ducks*

Oh, Marc. I do apologize. This is born of my frustration at the only men my age at cons secreting themselves out of my range. Sigh. How does one entice men of retirement age to venture out and play a 1-2hr game in the main playing area?

If you youngsters think it's hard to find a gamer/life partner, you should think about the plight of a retired woman living in Austin. LOL, very very young town. My wife and I (both mid-50s) get to Austin from time to time. And we are both going to be in San Antonio this weekend (PAX South). Would love to hang out and play some games!

give me a buzz when you plan to be in Austin.

LOL. I went to the Microbadge section to see if a SINGLE badge exists. To my chagrin, I already owned it! I added it under my avatar. May I suggest that this micro badge be used more frequently?

Okay, we're up and running. I'd like some help getting the ball rolling on this. Please put up your introduction, even if it's not filled out yet. Then, post a link to other guilds or groups you belong to.

Critical Mass is important.

I'd like to be large enough that we can have our own meet ups at cons.

John, "single" means without a romantic partner. In no way does it mean "never married."

come join us.

And bacon!.

Seriously though engage them in conversation about whatever they are already discussing. Show interest and offer help if you have the skills or knowledge.
A true gentleman will engage with you because you have shown an interest.

What’s all this about Action Points being bad? AP are a perfectly good way of giving units more flexibility than just “move, fire” during a turn.
