other than another card that might help you, is there something we're missing?

and...what's really the difference between "face up" and "face down" horror/damage cards?

thanks...

No, there is no normal way to heal damage or horror. You need some items or spells.
The difference is: Face down is just 1 damage/horror. Face up is 1 damage/horror + another effect. Also if you become insane or wounded you will not remove all damage/horror, just the face down.

Also worth to notice, is that whenever the app tells you to take damage/ horror you should take them face up and thus read and resolve the effect of the card.

It is ONLY when the app specifically tells you to take the damage/horror facedown that you do so.

As mentioned by the previous user - a facedown card is better since it's just one simple point of damage/horror, while a faceup card also brings a negative effect in addition to being a point of damage/horror.
