I've been working through the rules and enjoying my first foray into this excellent game IMMENSELY over the past couple of days.

One question I have, which I just KNOW is going to be blatantly obvious, is whether after a ship has been sunk, the escort still gets to do a detection, with a possible round of depth charges to follow?

I guess what I haven't grasped is the time-scale. At first I figured that if the ship was sunk, the U-boat got away 'scot-free', before realising it was the escort that was doing the checking.

So, to clarify - say I've just sunk a small freighter with an escort, does the escort now try to detect me before I go on my way?

Sorry for over-wording this... whistle

Thanks for the extremely quick reply!

Yes, this would seem intuitive wouldn't it?

I am absolutely LOVING the game and I am already looking forward to getting it to the table as often as I can...

Martyn, don't feel bad about asking any questions you have. People on this forum are quite patient. As an example, the answer to my question in a recent thread was there in black and white in the rules (does make me feel a bit dumb), but a poster kindly and promptly answered it. BGG is worth its weight in gold to us game players in my opinion!

Thanks Scott - I totally agree with you about the rules advice on here - over the years, I don't know where I'd be without it!!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words, glad to hear you are enjoying the game!

I do check the forums from time to time, sorry a bit late here. However, if you have any questions for me, I'd be happy to (at least) try to answer them. But yes, the escort will still be trying to find you even if you're successful. It's his job after all
