Yes it is ambitious but we are setting up a PBEM game for six players!

We have two already so need four more hearty souls from around the world who would like to play.

Intent is a relaxed PBEM game using Vassal with a goal of a card play per power per week.

Drop me an IM if interested!

I can play.
I'll play any side.
I also have another player that can play.

I recommend ACTS for managing cards as well.

I have little experience but I'm interested in any side as well if you will have me.

I am reluctant to make playing the game a two-step process, using ACTS unless there is a significant advantage doing so.

I am familiar with ACTS but has anyone who has played the game on Vassal had any issues with the vassal module and card play?

I do not see VQ supported by ACTS anyway, so this may be an unnecessary discussion.

And if you never have, you should. These things are fun and fun is good.

Ill play but without acts. I’ve used it since it’s inception off and on. It’s redundant INO. plus, playing the physical card with its color and tactile-ness is a fun part of CDGS. Acts removes this with little upside.

Thanks for all of the responses to play so far.

We have enough to play although a couple folks fall into the 'I have never played the game before but I will read the rules' category.

It is a heck of a game to get into in general and the PBEM part may be pushing it for folks who have never played.

I understood it as the Card Management in Vassal was pretty bad and ACTS automates a lot of it. Virgin Queen is a Custom module on the ACTS site.

I've only played it once PBEM and then using ACTS so maybe the Vassal version is just fine.

I put quite a lot of effort into this module's card handling and feel it's pretty good (but I am biased). If there is a particular way it falls short, I always listen to feedback--but any potential improvements are limited to what VASSAL's native capabilities allow.

Here I am inadvertently offending the vassal module maker blush . I played my first and only PBEM game using ACTS and someone there said they wanted to use ACTS because of some issue with Vassal, this was 3 years ago and I can't remember what the supposed issue was. I'm fine with trying it with Vassal.

Not offended, just want to respond to a concern if there is one.

Probably the way in which VASSAL cannot offer ironclad safeguards against cheating, which is covered quite exhaustively in other threads if one wants to get caught up without polluting this gentleman's thread.

I can play any faction if you still need any players. ACTS/Vassal ambivalence; whatever works best with the rest of the group.

I’ve played a bunch in the past and have a pbem game going now. So I’m ready to go with any power.

Hi guys!
We are getting ready to start. I will drop everyone an IM who has written me.
If you have not written me through geekmail, send a geekmail now.

We have more than six who want to play, or at least who answered.

My geekmail to all respondents will include my personal email address.
I will ask you to send me an email there, and prioritize the powers you want to play from one to six.

Cheers!

Steve

We need a sixth player.
We've just started and are in the Spring Redeployment phase of the very first turn.
Some agreements have been announced but the game is wide open.
Our England player had a personal crisis come up and is unable to continue.

If you are interested in joining our pbem game, please send me a geek mail.
We have a good group of guys including two in Europe.

Thanks.
