ALFA ROMEO 8C 2900 A won the 1935 Mille Miglia, but I didn't see the car in the box.

In 1935 the winner was the Alfa Romeo P.3 of Pintacuda/Della Stufa a Grand Prix single-seater (like a F1) transformed into a double-seater for the occasion with headlights and mudguards laugh

The car you mention did win in 1936 driven by Brivio/Ongaro, but it was once again a Grand Prix version of the road model, called "Botticella" Little Barrel) do its round shape.
