Is it possible to buy 2 copies of the game and then just add 1 card of each type in the market and play with 5 players?

Absolutely. I did that, mainly for the more variety in map creation.

Where does the fifth player start? double up the 4th space?
How do you mark the different players?
Use another meeple colour from another game?

I really want to have this play with 6 players.

Should we add more cards to the market?
1 more card each?

For a 5 player game, 1 more card of each type is added. Have one another meeple color from another game and that starts at the space next to the 4th player.

Would not recommend 6 players as the map will become too tight and possibly unbalanced.

We did a 6 player tonight and it was fun.
It was very tight and lots of blocking.
I didn't have enough sleeves for new cards to be added.
So I had just 16 cards for the additional players.

The card market ran out about 2/3 of the way.

I made the map a little longer.

But the game was very fun.

I was about 4th place for the first 1/3.
Then moved to about 2 or 3rd for the next 1/3.
But at the last 1/3 I started to take the lead with my thinned deck and balanced cards. (I didn't have the native).
I won with no blockades and 2nd and 3rd were close but just fell short of reaching the end.

All the friends enjoyed the game.

I think adding one more 1 market card for each type would have been even better.

I'm going to think of adding more map tiles and adding some split path for some interesting movement.
