I feel a bit thick, and I suspect I'm overlooking something obvious. In scenario 1, the setup positions of the wings are all based on 'columns' in from the short map edge. The short map edge is on the flat of the hexagon, so there aren't nice clean straight columns. I assume the 6th column mean the wiggly line of hexagons whose top is 6th in and that make little wiggles in parallel with the appropriate short map edge. Right?
