Played today and as UNITA I had a lot of trouble with the commie tanks. One stack had +5 with tanks which is pretty much unbeatable in a fight.

I had accumulated anti-tank weapons to deal with this but on a 6, the enemy picks who takes the loss (generally an armoured car) and a 4-5 only suppresses for one round meaning that the fight after they are back again. We also presumed that if you roll a LOT of suppressions the worst you can do is suppress all the armour.

It seems almost a forgone conclusion that if the commies manage to get several +4/5 stacks they're going to win just about every fight.

In short, the anti-tank weapons just don't seem to be able to stop the tanks, and then you get steamrollered!

Tanks are good, but they supporting infantry. That is often the Communists Achilles heel late in the game. Artillery is a great tool for attriting away leg units. The FNLA in particular can often build up high stacks of units after taking Cabinda and grind down the coast to Luanda.
