Use all Spies and Specialists face-down and "shuffled" together.

Infiltrator flips two random tokens.

Predictor prepares card.

Infiltrate with only one of the two face-up tokens.

Predictor reveals card. Compare Infiltrator location with Prediction and resolve.

Remove the unused (and possibly the predicted Infiltrator) token(s) from the game.

(switch roles and repeat)
___

Notes:
- Specialists may forego the use of their special abilities and act as regular Spies.
- Specialists are affected by other Specialists as Spies are.
- If you lose an active Hacker (pushed off board or killed), you lose its special ability.
- If you have only one token left on your infiltration turn, you may use it as a last ditch effort.
- If no tokens are left and the game is not yet won, the Mission is Impossible.

Thank you for your enthusiasm for our little game. I appreciate that you enjoy it enough to come up with an alternate rule set. Would it be okay if I use this as part of a blog?

Happy New Year

How balanced have you found this variant in your plays? At first glance it seems like it would be possible for one player to flip up more Specialists than the other player, giving that player an advantage. (Although I suppose this is less likely because two tokens are flipped up.)

I'm also curious about the rule allowing Specialists to be played as Spies. Was this to fix an issue that comes up when playing this variant?

Fundamentally it seems like this variant works. Thanks for taking the time to come up with this!

I think it is well balanced. Sure, luck has an influence because you never know in which order the Specialists will come up. However, this is true for both players.

The rule for Specialists acting as normal Spies is useful in some instances. For example, first Infiltrator flips Assassin and Messenger. They would be impossible to play on an empty board with the rules as written as they both go on top of another token and there are none yet.
