We are very confused about the calibration of the radio towers. No spoilers wanted, but the poetic clues don't seem to be helpful.

Anyone else at wits' end?

Lots going on here so I'll try to be comprehensive. Spoilers where unavoidable.

There are three components to this puzzle - the map of St Florian, a transparent overlay, and a double-sided sheet of instructions. Side 1 of these instructions looks a little like a baseball diamond with red, grey, and green sections marked with L and H. We'll call this the baseball side. The reverse side has some alignment instructions in the form of poetry and other text. We'll call this the poem side.

Notice you have ten numbered circles on the overlay, numbered 1 - 10. These are your "hands" - like clock hands. You want to orient these hands to align with the poetic clues on the poem sheet; when correctly aligned, there will be a "key" hand that is aligned with the "key" phrase in the poem.

Using the north-east radio tower:

Place the overlay over the map such that the tower's tip is visible through the center circle. The poem for this tower says:

One hand grabs eponymous peak
Two hands find the shade
The key hand jumps and shouts "Look Out!"
That's how the signal's made

One line at a time:

Line 1:
One hand grabs eponymous peak.
Eponymous means "named for". So find the peak/ mountain/ hill named for St Florian. Rotate without otherwise moving the overlay so that one of the hand circles aligns over this feature. There are only two that will fit - numbers 2 & 9. Try them both before reading on.

Line 2:
Two hands find the shade.
Where do we find shade? In the woodlands. Only one of the hands that aligns for line 1 will cause two hands to be in the woodlands. I'll let you experiment before moving on.

Lines 3 & 4:
The key hand jumps and shouts "Look out!"
That's how the signal's made.
What could this mean? Well, if you've aligned the other hands correctly, there will be another hand pointing ("jumping") towards something that would cause it to say "Look Out!". Hint: look north. This is the key hand. Make a note of its number.

Now take the overlay and place it over the baseball side of the instruction sheet. Align the lower circle (with a +) on the overlay with the lowest circle on the baseball diamond, with the dotted line pointing straight along the central white line.

That number you remembered from before? The key number? Whatever segment it is in tells you the responses for the in-app piece of the game, so if the key number is 2, for example, that corresponds to Grey, High. So the responses will be "Grey", "High Frequency".

Yes we got stuck but partly because the app said we were at north tower and we couldn't work out which was north when the others seemed to be called east and south... how do you know which is which as on the map they seem to be West, middle and north east? Or am I being really stupid?
We got lucky after one incorrect guess, and that didn't seem to much oud a consequence.

Especially because the clues in the baseball diamond card say Ez-east, south, and then nothing. I guess it is North, but it’s confusing.
