Dug out my set over the last weekend, and despite having about 25 soldiers per side went ahead and picked up a few I didn't have, GLI Sharpshooters, Mauser Ldr and an ST44 leader, and the US Scouts and another Garand leader. Nice XMas present to myself.

Still agree that they are pricey (older MP40 ldr 9.95, now an ST44 ldr is 14.95?) but the quality is very good and I DON'T HAVE TO PAINT THEM!! (As I get older and older that becomes more and more attractive)

Merry XMas all!

And don't forget he British too! Red Devils is a must.

And then there's X-Terrain, SHOW ... much wallet hurt to come.

Have a happy holiday to all!

The STG Leader has more cards than the “regular” leader because he is a specialist. You still get the three cards for different ranks but there are other optional cards that are included. Things like equipment or more cards to use at a rank than the usual seven.

Do you only take the rank cards associated to the rank he is playing in the game, or do you use all of them?

Also, in the expansions, if they add new cards to specific characters, do you mix them in or replace the existing cards?

Lastly, I received some cards last year(?) in the mail from LBG, they look like they are to convert 2 characters to vehicles, again do they replace or become mixed in?

Thanks in advance!

Check the rules for Specialists starting on page 25 of the 2.0 rules. You will use the associated rank cards and base cards, cards from the other ranks are set aside. The specialist cards, like preempt, command, equipment, and react cards are optional.

I can’t think of expansions that would have cards for individual soldiers since they would all be different except the characters. Things like equipment are useable as long as you meet the requirements for the using that equipment (point value for scenario and any other rules like having a rifle grenade type weapon).

I remember the cards from the mailing last year but would have to get them out to see what they are and how they function. Someone else may be able to speak to them.

I just checked Brecourt, the cards in that for the two characters are special character cards giving Infiltration abilities for Fields and Assault for Maier.

According to the scenarios in the book, you would use those cards for the scenarios. Looking through that scenario book all the uses if those two characters specify the special cards for those two characters. Since the scenarios say to use the special cards, and don’t mention the old cards, just use the new ones for those scenarios.

One thing that I have mentioned to Jeff Billings in the past, is that he needs to be sure to specify things directly. Because he is so familiar with the game, things that he may know might be assumed to be known by the players. I believe he figured that since you get a full set of special cards, everyone would just figure that you would replace it but in other instances you may add new cards to old cards (but in those instances you may not have a full set of cards provided).

For example with Fields you have his new character card, equipment, the four base cards with the star symbol, the five rank cards, and then the Preempt and Command cards. The Preempt and Command card (as well as React and Story cards if Specialists have them) are optional to use. The other cards, rank and base cards are always used.

Appreciated, and agree on stating things clearly. For cards, where we have a character having 3 levels, different cards to use for each level, then tossing in new cards for certain situations or scenarios, it can get mightily confusing.

The new soldier pricing is here to stay. With new manufacturing methods our prices dropped.

However the holiday bundles will be around until January 7th, 2018.

If you are on the fence, get in now, its an awesome deal! whistle
