If you own Ticket to Ride Marklin, do you need Ticket to Ride Germany?

I have decided not to get it.

There are more tickets, it uses a standard train deck and the passenger mechanism is quite different. I tried dummying up Germany on my Marklin board when it was Deutschland. I used Tuscany meeples for the passengers, but Carcasonne ones would work as well.

I found I preferred the gameplay of Märklin. The meeples were more controllable than those pesky tokens though.

All you really miss this way are the extra tickets. And those can be subbed in too.

No you don't need Germany if you already own Märklin. Get Zug um Zug: Deutschland – Deutschland 1902 and (assuming you have a train deck from another TtR game) you'll be able to play it any way you want - without passengers, with Märklin passengers and with Germany passengers.
