Just trying to know if anyone else had this situation.

Me and 2 friends just had our first game of TI4. After round 2 or 3, one of the players fielded his flagship. Until the end of round 4 I was convinced it was a dreadnaught...

When I found out I just pulled out my copy of TI3 and got the spaceshark to replace the flagships in TI4, which will forever be refered to a dreadNOTs.

You must be the only one. The differences are very clear between the two type of spaceships.

Why not if you like the model better. Whatever works I say.

Others have done similar. It's yet to be a problem for me, though we use fleet stands, so everything floats in the air and players are forced to carefully stack them to fit on the stand. This conveniently stops players from just dumping them in a pile on the hex like you normally get, and it's a little easier to notice the differences when it is visible from all angles.

We haven't had an issue yet- but all 17 races have their own color scheme and I did take some liberties in using micromachines for various flagships. My favorite is the pink tie-fighter for the Naalu.

They are actually pretty similar. Yes, different if you pay close attention, but still. I wondered about the same thing.

Referring to the TI3 Flagship models, which I guess do vaguely look shark-like.

The TI3 flagships totally destroyed my 'acceptance' of the TI3 ship class models.

They were SO DIFFERENT in form it just annoyed the heck out of me.
