Hello everyone!

I’m converting an old bumper pool table into a gaming table and I’d like some advice on what material I should use for the playing surface. Input on padding as well.

In return, I promise to post pics and such once I get the process started.

Here is the table that I purchased for $50 off Facebook. Came with a table topper and poker topper all-in-one. I will be refinishing those as well.

I don't have advice on materials (neoprene mats seems to be all the rage)

Based on my experience with round-ish tables, I would encourage you to layout a few games that you would intend to play on this just to ensure that it fits in a way that you're happy with before you begin a refurbishing project.

Not a bad idea. I expect it to work for most games but bigger games are definitely not going to fit. I’m going to add a couple of smaller tables for extra components, drinks, food, etc. But I will try it before I start tearing it up for sure. Thanks!
