I’m in the process of trying this optional idea in 1775. I add one ‘reinforcement’ unit into an on-going battle for each command roll, within the following rules:
- unit must be adjacent to the battled area
- unit must color-match command roll
- unit cannot have already moved
- unit cannot come from an area with an upcoming battle
It has turned the tide in some cases, very interesting twist so far. It can certainly help making up for the Fled units!

On another note... Rhode Island will get very crowded if you use minis!

BTW, the two fellows on either side of the FLED box look like you...
