Hi everyone!
While I wish you a beatiful 2018, please see below my attempt of definitive clarification about the different ways to build the card deck depending of play scenario.
Enjoy! (and let me know if there's something wrong)
NORMAL PLAY 1. Put 9 starting compounds on the field. 2. Shuffle the 54 normal cards, put 7 cards to complete the 4x4 field. 3. Now you have 47 normal cards + 5 lab fires. 4. Divide the deck of 47 cards into six stacks (five stacks of 8 cards, one stack of 7 cards). 5. Set one stack of 8 cards aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the five remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck.
CHEMICAL CHAOS 1. Not use the starting compounds. 2. Now you have 54 normal cards + 14 chemchaos = 68 cards to be shuffled together. 3. Put down the 4x4 field with 16 cards randomly taken from the top of the deck. 4. Now you have 52 cards + 6 lab fires. 5. Separate the deck of 52 cards in seven stacks (I propose three stacks of 8 cards and four stacks of 7 cards) 6. Set one stack of 8 cards aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the six remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck.
NOBEL 1. Put 6 starting compounds on the field (2 of each, the remaining 3 aren’t used). 2. Shuffle the 54 normal cards, put 2 cards to complete the 4x2 field. 3. Now you have 52 normal cards + 5 lab fires. 4. Divide the deck of 52 cards into six stacks (I propose four stacks of 9 cards, two stacks of 8 cards). 5. Set one stack of 9 cards aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the five remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck.
NOBEL WITH CHEMICAL CHAOS 1. Not use the starting compounds. 2. Now you have 54 normal cards + 14 chemchaos = 68 cards to be shuffled together. 3. Put down the 4x2 field with 8 cards randomly taken from the top of the deck. 4. Now you have 60 cards + 6 lab fires. 5. Separate the deck of 60 cards in seven stacks (I propose four stacks of 9 cards and three stacks of 8 cards) 6. Set one stack of 9 cards aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the six remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck.
LAB PARTNERS NORMAL 1. Put 9 starting compounds on the field. 2. Shuffle the 54 normal cards, put 3 cards to complete a 4x3 field. 3. Now you have 51 normal cards + 5 lab fires. 4. Divide the deck of 51 cards into six stacks (I propose three stacks of 9 cards, three stacks of 8 cards). 5. Set one stack of 9 cards aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the five remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck. 6. Shuffle the Lab Partners deck, put 2 cards at the bottom of the field.
LAB PARTNERS WITH CHEMICAL CHAOS 1. Not use the 9 starting compounds. 2. Now you have 54 normal cards + 14 chemchaos = 68 cards to be shuffled together. 3. Put down a 4x3 field with 12 cards randomly taken from the top of the deck. 4. Now you have 56 cards + 6 lab fires. 5. Separate the deck of 56 cards in seven stacks of 8 cards. 6. Set one stack aside. Place a Lab Fire card on top of each of the six remaining stacks, then place those stacks on top of each other. Place the stack that was set aside on top of this stack to form the final Compound Deck. 7. Shuffle the Lab Partners deck, put 2 cards at the bottom of the field.
