While in Walmart to grab a couple of grocery items, I looked over and saw . . . .

Little chocolate donuts.

Tastykake little chocolate donuts.

Ah yes, the donuts of champions!

How is it that it's been so long since I bought any?!?

Who could pass up such deliciousy goodness in every bite?

As soon as I got home, a handful of LCDs and a cold glass of milk got my year off to a great start.

cool

Tastykake? Meh, not for their donuts. For those, I'm an Entenmann's man.

*The rest of the Tastykake lineup is tough to beat!

Used to love Tastykake cakes when I was a kid. We left the Philly area, really S. Jersey, when I was eight years old. Couldn't find the brand in SoFla and forgot about them. When I moved up to central VA, I found the whole lineup in the grocery store.I bought tandy-takes, krimpets and chocolate cupcakes. Tried them...gulp Bleeeech, they were terrible. I guess my palate was a bit different 50 years ago.

In fairness I am not fond of any other pre-packaged pastries at this stage of my life.

I'm picturing a 60-year-old man doing a double-take in the middle of the grocery aisle and then laughing madly while scooping piles of tastycakes into his cart.
