For regional trains that grew out of their associated coal company, can additional stations be placed in a manner that they only trace back to the original mine? Or must they be placed in a manner that the station can trace to the regional’s ‘home station’ (i.e. the physical station, instead of the mine)

Thanks!
Karsten

I sense a theme here.

Once the company forms, the mine has no official connection to the company. The company can run anywhere and lay stations anywhere, subject to rules (able to trace route back to one of its stations, not being blocked out by other company stations, having enough money to lay, etc.). The company can decide to run regular trains and/or goods trains, and can choose to ignore mines completely (run only non-goods trains). It is essentially a standard xx style share company, starting in the city marked for it on the board.

The only difference in this game is that for the non-government companies, you can trade in the mountain companies (and initial coal company) to get above 60%. So, if you buy 60% of single shares, trade in the coal company and trade in two mountain companies, you can get 100% of it.

At least, that is how we have always played it.
